As a Statistics Teaching Assistant at SMU, I supported a cohort of more than 100 students in applying statistical tools to real-world finance problems. I guided them through core concepts such as hypothesis testing for means and variances, as well as measures of risk and covariance, emphasizing intuition and practical relevance over rote computation. This experience honed my ability to explain technical topics in accessible language and reinforced my own foundations in quantitative methods that underpin modern portfolio and risk analysis. During my tenure, I also acted on behalf of my professor in certain client-reaching activities like phone calls, interviews and other means of stakeholder communications.
