I had a lot of fond memories being president of SMU Kendo Club, but I want to start with a highlight. I had the honor to represent SMU, along with 3-4 other club leaders, to present in front of special guests during the academic opening year in 2024. Among the guests of honor was Piyush Gupta, then CEO of DBS! I had the pleasure of letting him handle our shinai (sword) and teaching him a basic striking technique!

Beyond that, I had many great opportunities, such as arranging competitions and camps, some of which involved all the kendo clubs in the country! It was a pleasure to lead my team in spearheading events, initiatives and being an active member of our school. I am also happy to say that we managed to get a couple of our club members to participate in the international kendo tournament representing Singapore, the biggest Kendo tournament held annually!
