I prepared and presented market sentiment reports on coal and steel, focusing on how policy changes and demand shifts affect over 2 billion dollars of physical trade across borders. One highlight was presenting to senior leadership on the profitability of the top five Chinese steel companies, where I contextualized a 12% year-on-year earnings decline against a trillion-dollar contraction in China’s real estate market. I also built familiarity with Platts data and multiple physical commodity markets, deepening my understanding of how macro trends translate into on-the-ground trading decisions.
